What are the steps to port my number?
Follow these steps to successfully port your number to Twilio (and use it with Telfon):
- Submit a Porting Request
- Log in to your Twilio Console
- Click on Phone Numbers > Port & Host > Port in request
- Log in to your Twilio Console
- Keep Your Current Provider Account Active
- Do not cancel your existing service until the port is complete.

- Twilio’s Carrier Partner Will Contact Your Current Provider
- They will handle the process of transferring your number.

- Wait for Approval or Rejection
- You’ll receive a notification.
- Common reasons for rejection: incorrect account details or an unauthorized Letter of Authorization (LOA).
- You’ll receive a notification.
- Pre-Configure Your Number in Twilio
- Once approved, log in to your Twilio Console and configure routing settings before the porting date.

- Complete the Port and Disconnect from Your Old Provider
- After the port is successful, you can safely remove the number from your old service provider.
